Using the Search facilities
This site makes use of the Verity search engine. There are several ways to use the search engine. Below is a common example of how to enter words into the search engines.
Example Search result
- high,speed,network will look for the words: high or speed or network
- high speed network will look for the phrase: high speed network
- network will look for the words: network, networks, networking, or networked
- networking AND N3 will look for the words network, networks, networking, or networked, and the word N3
We will be looking at ways in which to refine the search engine and make your search even easier in the future and as the site develops.
File Formats and Viewers
Web pages and documents are generally provided in HTML, Rich Text Format (RTF), Excel (XLS), or Adobe PDF format. Viewers are available for users who do not have the necessary programs installed on your PC.
Adobe Viewer can be obtained from the Adobe web site. Microsoft Viewers can be obtained from the Microsoft web site (if this link is broken or does not open, visit www.microsoft.co.uk and type viewers in the search box.)
Printing
In general, the site is designed for people to read information, reports and articles on-line to gain the benefits of using any hypertext links. When printing pages, the navigation menu and branding information will not be printed.
