N3SP delivers innovative solutions to help NHS Scotland extend its reach
Finding better, faster, more economic ways of helping NHS Scotland extend its services is vitally important to N3SP.
We all know it's not always possible to provide standard catalogue services to remote sites in Scotland due to the geography. Fortunately N3SP enjoys the opportunity of a good challenge and has a good track record of introducing solutions - using both established and new technologies.
Using imagination and specialist capabilities the team has recently delivered some innovative solutions that have seen the deployment of new services and additional bandwidth at some previously hard to reach NHS Scotland sites.
These include:
- the bonded 2 x 2Mbps solution designed to replace a single 2Mb service at 10 remote Scottish sites needing additional bandwidth to access national applications,
- a successful proof of concept at Applecross and Laggan utilising the exchange activate programme offering N3 DSL services at locations previously experiencing exchange limitations
- extended reach where N3SP has deployed a solution using a 1 Gbps bearer with a low CDR to key sites including Stratheden.
