Internet Gateway Temporary Prioritisation

On Wednesday 4th November 2009, the N3 Internet Gateway had its raw bandwidth upgraded from 1.1Gb/s to 1.4Gb/s, creating an effective throughput of 1.8Gb/s (after caching and other optimisations).

As requested at the N3 User Forum, NHS Connecting for Health and N3 have provided utilisation and response time information for before and after the upgrade. This information is available on the N3 Service Portal, click here to log on or to request access to the N3 Service Portal.

Also an interim prioritisation service has been put in place for exceptional internet services of high importance. A list of the prioritised sites and a process to follow to request additions to prioritised site list is also available on the N3 Service Portal.
