Countdown to London 2012
With six months to go until the Olympic Games begin, N3 is getting ready for business and we're ready to help you make your preparations as well.
Your N3 orders
N3 needs to understand what products our customers - who are based in and near Games sites - want in the lead up to London 2012. We need to plan ahead and be mindful of the restrictions that will be placed on the Olympic Route Network roads and how this will impact on our ability to serve you while these restrictions are in force. The details on the Olympic Route Network can be accessed via the Transport for London web pages.
Planned works restrictions on Olympic Route Network roads start in March 2012 with a phased approach to a lock down during the Games.
Olympic Games Friday 27 July 2012 to Friday 17 August 2012
Paralympic Games Sunday 29 July 2012 to Sunday 9 September 2012
Where applicable customers are being advised to order early. The sooner we know what products you need to support services for the Games period, (as well as those not connected to the Games but involve impacted areas) the better.
Service delivery
There will be an additional change process that will minimise systems or network changes during Games time. A special Olympic Technical Change Advisory Board will review IT and network requests.
The Service Protection Period begins 18 days before the opening ceremony, from Monday 09 July through to Sunday 12 August and then between Monday 27 August and Sunday 09 September 2012.
During this period there will be targeted restrictions on large scale changes on core IT and network services in order to protect the network for all customers. You are advised to submit any system or network changes before these restrictions apply.
If you have any questions about how London 2012 could affect your site please call the N3 helpdesk on 0800 085 0503 option 3.
